Favourite Four Jumpsuits

THE JUMPSUIT – I can pinpoint the beginning of the addiction for me.  It was 2012 when I walked into that Witchery store on Hastings Street, Noosa and saw my new love – an effortlessly cool black number (loose fit, drawstring waist). That little ripper has remained a wardrobe staple for me since (not just the style but the ACTUAL well worn jumpsuit).

I thought the style would be a short lived trend on the roundabout of fashion but she is here to stay people – the jumpsuit is forever!

Men and women have been embracing the style since the early 1900’s (not just by race car drivers and prisoners :). When you take a look through the fashion archives you will see a steady representation of jumpsuits through the eras. Check it out;

Arghhh – early 2000’s – what were we thinking? Lets cut to the current day jumpsuit – a hybrid of the eras. The jumpsuit of now is a nod to the past and a must-have item.

As a champion of the jumpsuit I have road tested a few and present to you my favourite four.

Alice McCall Distant Sky Frida Floral – this shape is perfect an hourglass figure. I adore everything about this style. The satin fabric has a little stretch making it super comfortable while you make a luxe folk fashion statement (plus Frida Kahlo is my creative muse for SS17/18). This is currently on sale for $195.

Glamorous Floral Jumpsuit – this is the cutest jumpsuit ever! The light fabric makes it perfect for an Australian Summer and adjustable shoulder straps allow for bigger bust sizes to wear this style too. Only $79.95 at Myer.

Spell and The Gypsy Collective Zahara Pantsuit in Rose Water – this pretty lil thing is lined but has an open back so you need to go bra-less. It has thigh high splits up the sides which were slightly too high for me so I made a small adjustment. The fabric is so beautiful – I feel like a boho goddess in the Zahara pantsuit. $229.

Arnhem Remy Jumpsuit love at first sight. When I dropped into Bohemian Sundays at Peregian Beach the gorgeous owner was wearing this jumpsuit (in like size 6) and it was so fabulous on her I just had to try it on (in size 12 :). I loved it on my shape too and spent a weekend in Melbourne recently where I teamed it with a T-shirt. Extra points for versatility with this one. $189.

The jumpsuit is a winner but don’t wear one if you’re having a few vinos – they can be such a hassle to get in and out of.

Tag me on Insta if you spot any jumpsuits that I need to road test – this gal could never have too many J-Suits!
