I am Carlie Wacker – a woman that loves a microphone in one hand a glass of French bubbles in the other and a fabulous outfit.

I spent my youth planning a career in Hollywood by immersing myself in the performing arts (and forcing neighbourhood kids to participate in grand performances for the parents on weekends and school holidays). I travelled to the USA as a teenager to perform Off Broadway, at Disneyland and various high schools. The need to be onstage has been in my blood since birth.

​

While breaking into the world of Australian commercial television appearing on soapies, dramas and in commercials I found myself at a radio station in Melbourne where I fell in love with the wireless! My radio addiction soon took me around the country where I have had the pleasure of working in some great places and meeting some extraordinary people. 

​

My diverse career in media and entertainment has included radio, television, public relations and event management. I have managed a children's talent agency and taught modeling and deportment workshops. I am proud to have written the blueprint for the integration and employment for Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander people into the commercial radio industry in 2008. I have also been a guest lecturer at AFTRS.

In 2012 I moved to Noosa where I am living my best life with my boat loving husband Mark and big fur kids Bazzil, Harry and Brax (yep, Home and Away reference).

Now I bring my 25 + years experience in the media, entertainment and fashion industries to my role as freelance writer for Hello Sunshine magazine, IN Noosa magazine, and as a presenter and compere. 

​

In 2020 I began curating a collection of handcrafted and new jewellery under World Of Wacker Collective and in 2022, Wacker Clothing Company was founded.
